I have complained about Firefox's memory leaks for some time, and even switched to Opera for some time, although I have switched back to FF due to some compatibility problems with Opera. Mozilla has constantly said that the memory leaks were due to extensions and plug-ins, and not due to the browser itself.
A few weeks ago I uninstalled all my extensions as a way to test this theory out. It seems to have worked... Although now I didn't know which extensions were the problem and which weren't. This article points out the most popular extensions that have known memory leaks:

I had been using IETab and ForecastFox, so maybe that was the cause all along.
